COVID-19: Reporting From Public Gatherings

The partial easing of COVID-19 lockdown measures has led to large crowds at public places, street parties and sporting celebrations. Journalists covering such events are at risk from both exposure to the virus and potential aggression from the crowds.

With spikes in COVID-19 cases already leading to localised lockdowns in some areas, and tension between authorities and the public over ongoing restrictions – the summer promises to be a difficult one.
